Test Procedure for FUELSTAT™ Marine (Diesel) Test Kit
Work in a clean environment and do not touch the Viewing Windows on the Test Paddle. Do not allow the paddle to become contaminated with fuel, only the blue fluid / water mix should come into contact with the paddle.
Obtain a sample of approximately 200 ml from as close to the bottom of the tank as possible. Do you have a fuel sample, Water sample or a Mixture of both? Do not shake or emulsify tank sample before testing! Test as described below.

Using the pipette extract and transfer all free water from sample into test bottle, then using the fuel from the same sample continue to fill the test bottle to the upper (fuel) line.
Fill with sample water to lower (water) line.
Turn the bottle upside down and allow the blue fluid to seperate fully from fuel and settle completely into dropper, this may take 45 - 60 seconds depending on fuel viscosity. Biodiesel will take noticeably longer to separate.
Securely screw on bottle top with dropper cap. Shake vigorously for 5 seconds. Blue fluid will mix completely with water sample.
Whilst holding the test bottle upside down, tilt slightly and remove the cap from the dropper of the bottle. Discard the first 2 drops from the bottle to waste then carefully introduce 4 drops of the blue extraction fluid into each of the 6 round sample wells (the sample wells will turn blue). Keep the Test Paddle flat. Fluid will be seen to "wick" along the viewing window. After 10 minutes, but before 30 minutes, check that all 6 Control lines are visible. If any of the Control lines are not visible then that part of the test is not valid.
Interpreting the results: If any Test lines are not visable, this is a Positive result. If all Control lines and test lines are visible this is a Negative Result. A difference in boldness between "C" and "T" lines is quite normal.
